Summer 2018 join Scott Fifer, CEO of GO Campaign and Ted McDonald, Founder of Adventure Yoga Retreats as they guide you through East Africa on the adventure of a lifetime! Our first week will begin with visits to GO Campaign projects including the Gabriella Center for Autistic children, as well as a luxurious 3 day safari where we’ll be staying at Neptune Ngorongoro Luxury Lodge. Most of our days will consist of a light yoga practice to make sure our bodies and minds are ready for each day’s adventure. Our second week is when the going gets tough and we embark on our charity climb to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro. We will be taking the 6 day route which is a moderate pace to the 19,341ft (5,895meters) peak. Our group will be led by the amazing folks at Nature Discovery and Ted, one of your fearless leaders will be leading training sessions to prepare you for the climb.
You may choose to join us for the first week (safari), the second week (Kili climb), or both. Fundraising details here and trip cost itemized below.
All levels of travelers and yogis are welcome, however, the Kilimanjaro climb will be vigorous as we will be hiking to 19,341ft above sea level. You must be in appropriate physical condition.

Sample Daily Schedule:
7:30-8:30am – yoga

6pm-8pm – dinner

Retreat must be paid in full before January 31, 2018. Cancellation fees are as follows:
Cancellation made 120 days or more prior to departure = 25% fee;
Cancellation made 90-119 days before departure = 50% fee;
Cancellation made 60-89 days before departure = 75% fee;
Cancellation made 59 days or fewer before departure = 100% fee.

If you are joining us for Week 1 of our trip, you must arrive into Kilimanjaro airport (JRO) before dinner on Sunday June 24, 2018. If you are joining us for Week 2 of our trip, you must arrive into Kilimanjaro airport in the morning of Saturday June 30 as we will be leaving on our trek at 8am on Sunday July 1, 2018.

Before founding GO Campaign, Scott worked on Capitol Hill as a US Senate aide on both sides of the aisle (Sen. Ted Kennedy and Sen. Pete Domenici), on Wall Street as a tax attorney at Lord, Day & Lord Barrett Smith, and in Hollywood as a TV and film writer for Miramax, Sony Pictures, New Line, NBC, CBS, ABC, Fox, Lifetime, USA and others. In 2005 he took a volunteer vacation to Tanzania where he worked at a center for street children. It was the best month of his life and it led him to found GO Campaign to help vulnerable children all over the world who are falling through the cracks but who have the good fortune to have a local hero in the community fighting for their future.

Ted McDonald is a yoga teacher, fitness trainer, endurance athlete, entrepreneur, avid traveler and philanthropist. A former Elite Adventure Racer and a Lacrosse player at UCLA, he has been an athlete his entire life. He began teaching yoga and meditation over a decade ago and continues to compete in marathons and triathlons. Educated in both Iyengar and Ashtanga styles of yoga, he focuses his yoga sessions on strength, alignment and the breath, in order to help students increase their flexibility, strength and focus. He teaches many forms of meditation and a yin or restorative yoga class specifically designed to lengthen connective tissue, prevent injuries and open energetic pathways in the body. He is the founder of Adventure Yoga Retreats, a company that organizes premium travel adventures that enrich lives and inspire people to perform at their highest level. His versatility and knowledge allows him to successfully tailor his teaching and retreats to a diverse audience, including athletes, business professionals, yoga teachers, as well as beginning students. He owns 5 Point Yoga, two premiere yoga and fitness studios in Malibu, California. Ted co-created and is featured in Tony Horton’s p90x:2 yoga sequence as well as Tony’s yoga “expert” for his one-on-one video series. He is a long time lululemon ambassador and is the designated yoga teacher for the Tour de France winning professional cycling BMC Racing Team. And most recently Ted’s Yoga bootcamp video series for ExerciseTV was released with great success.
